Summer clinics and intensives at The Pointe are designed to help dedicated dancers develop their technique, increase their strength, and improve their flexibility.  Clinics focus on one specific aspect of dance and provide each student the opportunity for individual feedback.  Our intensives cover multiple genres and styles of dance to help dancers accelerate their training over the summer!

July 13-14, 9 AM – 3 PM
$110 – or $95 with registration by April 1!

Dancers who aspire to polish and perfect their dance skills can’t miss this Intensive!  Faculty from The Pointe will instruct classes focusing on executing all movements and skills with correct technique – ensuring safe and smooth progression through skills and levels.  Dancers will be separated into groups based on age and skill level at the beginning of the intensive.  Classes will be held in: Ballet Technique, Strength & Conditioning, Flexibility, Jumps & Leaps, Turn Technique, Musical Theatre, Jazz Technique, Tap Technique, and Contemporary!  Bring your own lunch for a short break in the middle of each day.  T-Shirt included!

Aug 3, 9 AM – 3 PM
$75 or $65 with registration by April 1!

The title says it all – boys dance too!  We are big believers that dance is for everyone and know that sometimes our male students feel more comfortable starting a new style with a class of all guys.  Join Mr. Aaron for this one-day intensive exploring different genres of dance and learning about professional male dancers and choreographers. Bring your own lunch and get ready to dance and have fun with the guys!

June 7, 5:15 – 6:15 PM (Levels 1-4) 6:15-7:15 PM (Levels 5+)
$15 – or $12 with registration by April 1!

Dancers interested in auditioning for a performing group will benefit greatly from the Audition Clinic experience.  Come in to learn more about what the audition process looks like, what audition judges watch for and want to see, and go through a mock-audition process in a safe and positive environment.

June 13, 10 AM – Noon, ages 6-18 (divided by skill level at the clinic)
$25 – or $22 with registration by April 1!

Learn and experience what Acro is all about!  Our Acrobatic Arts Certified instructor will divide the clinic by skill level into small groups with instructors to help dancers learn more acro skills, progressions to achieve new skills, and strengthening and stretching exercises dancers can continue at home to help them grow in their Acro technique beyond the clinic.

In this clinic, dancers will focus on turning technique that coordinates with their graded technique levels.  From the preparation to the landing, we will examine multiple turning skills and break down the elements needed to execute each turn correctly.  Dancers will learn about the mechanics of turning technique, get specific individual feedback on their turning progress, and learn exercises and drills to practice at home to continue improving their turning potential.

June 21, 5:15 – 6:15 PM (Levels 1-4) 6:15-7:15 PM (Levels 5+)
$15 – or $12 with registration by April 1!

Join us for a one-hour clinic focused on strengthening and conditioning the muscles and basic elements needed to execute leaps and jumps safely, correctly, and with impressive height!  Dancers will learn drills and exercises they can continue to safely practice at home to perfect their leaping and jumping technique.

Aug 2, 5:15 – 6:15 PM (Levels 1-4) 6:15-7:15 PM (Levels 5+)
$15 – or $12 with registration by April 1!

This one-hour clinic focuses on safe and smart stretching to build flexibility – and the strength needed to demonstrate flexibility and extension in choreography.  We will discuss the muscle groups that impact various extensions and dance skills, and teach specific stretches to target each muscle group. Dancers will learn about fundamentals for a safe stretching practice, and go home with a stretching routine they can continue to practice at home to continue building their flexibility even on days they don’t have a dance class!
