Message from Miss Vanessa:
Our first month of 2017-2018 classes FLEW by. Wow! We have seen a record number of preschool students in the studio for their first class, Company students working hard to prepare for their competitive season, ballet classes learn new challenging barre exercises, and hip hoppers get back in their groove. It’s been one of the BEST first months of class I can remember since I have started teaching, because we work with the most amazing students and families. Thank you for your positivity – returning families for helping new ones find their places, new families for encouraging your dancers to try something new.
In the middle of such a busy season, I have taken some time to step back and look around. I see dancers helping each other with their homework in the lounge in between classes, teenage dancers and teaching assistants helping little ones get past their first-class-separating-from-mom jitters, grandparents visiting the studio to observe, and I’m filled with gratitude. I see teachers bringing pure positivity to each of their classes – no matter what their day was like before they started teaching, encouraging a student who is struggling to grasp the new step. I hear assistant teachers and classroom assistants giving encouragement and high-fives to students in their classes who are working hard and improving their technique. I see parents in the lobby get to know each other and build new friendships.
Thank you for believing in The Pointe, in our teachers, and for choosing to dance with us. There is something so special happening within these walls every day – from our Mini Movers learning how to take a class without their parent to our Advanced classes working on making incredibly difficult skills look easy – we are so fortunate to work with amazing students and their incredible families.
To help us build our community, we’ve recently created a closed Facebook group just for families at The Pointe. Here’s the link to request to join – our staff will verify that everyone approved to join the group is a PSD dancer or family member, so please bear with us if it takes a little time to get everyone in: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1921735994748769/ – this group is a great place to make sure you’re seeing the reminders that the studio posts on Facebook, to arrange carpools if needed, to find babysitters (our Classroom and Teaching assistants are wonderful with kids and love to babysit – and those babysitting jobs may help them get to take master classes from professional dancers in New York City this summer!), etc. We hope you’ll join and get to know our dance family a little better through this group 🙂

FREE Dance Days at The Pointe – October 16 – 21
Current PSD Dancers are welcome to try a new genre of dance the week of October 16 – 21!

NEW Once Monthly Mini-Dance Camps Start in October!
Our summer dance camps have been SO fun and popular – we decided to keep that going all year long with a once-a-month mini dance camp! These camps run from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM each month for anyone ages 3 – 7 (no dance experience required) and include dancing, a craft, and campers will give a short performance at the end of the day!
October 21 is our FIRST Mini-Camp – Pumpkin Party!
