Happy Friday, PSD Families!

This Friday FYI is our primary method of communication for studio updates and important reminders. We recommend saving this email so you can reference it throughout the week.

Costume Week: October 20-26 (starts TUESDAY, 10/20!)

  • Wear a Halloween or dance costume to class!

    • Choose something you can move in comfortably, and wear your usual dance shoes.

  • Dancers will get a first look at their June recital costumes and hear their recital music! ✨

    • Parents, you’re welcome to step in to the last 5 minutes of class to see the big reveal!

  • Play along on social media - check our Facebook and Instagram pages in the morning each day to see the costumes for that day’s classes and make your guesses, then check back in the evening to see the big reveal!

  • Any dancers who have not yet been sized for recital costumes will be sized during class.

Intersessional Break - Studio CLOSED - October 27-31

  • No regular classes or office/boutique hours (we’ll be responsive to emails/calls/texts, but on a different schedule and may have some delay)

  • STEP Assistants - don’t forget our meeting on 10/27, 4:30-5:30

  • We DO have important (required) Nutcracker rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday

    • These rehearsals are critical to help combined classes and classes with added lead performers or acting sections to get to rehearse together before dress rehearsal.

Land of Sweets Party: November 21

You’re invited to our Land of Sweets Party! 🍭

Join us on November 21 from 2-4 PM for a little Nutcracker magic! Meet and take pictures with characters, enjoy a dance party, read The Nutcracker story, make a craft to take home, and enjoy some sweets.

  • Ages: 1+

  • Cost: FREE for PSD Member Families ($10/child for guests) - use code PSDSWEETS26 at checkout!

We’ve separated our Nutcracker information to help protect dancers’ privacy and keep everything easy to find!

  • Public Nutcracker Page: Tickets, program advertising, and show details. Share this with friends and family!

  • Performer Information: Rehearsal schedules, practice videos, and costume details. Also accessible through our parent page and studio app.

Please keep performer links and practice videos within our studio families. Thank you for helping us care for our dancers!

Nutcracker Program Ads & Dancer Shout-Outs Available

  • Business ads start at $25! New this year: businesses can credit a PSD dancer, who receives 40% of the ad cost as a dance account credit. Share with your favorite local businesses!

  • Dancer shout outs are $25: Celebrate your dancer with a photo and special message in our keepsake program.

  • Orders, images, and greetings are due November 10. Order and see details here

Coming Soon - A Big Project at The Pointe!

A fresh look is coming to PSD! ✨ We’re planning a big lobby and Turning Pointe Boutique renovation, with more room to gather, easier paths to the studios, and a larger, more functional boutique! We expect construction to begin this month and take about 4-6 weeks. We’ll keep you updated as dates are confirmed. Read more in our blog post here. We can’t wait to share this next chapter with you! 💙

Storybook Steps at The Marion Public Library

Storybook Steps is a playful dance and story experience hosted at the studio and in partnership with The Marion Public Library! Each session includes:

  • A short, engaging story and theme

  • Guided creative movement and beginner dance activities

  • Music and rhythm exploration

We love celebrating our students and their success in and beyond their dancing at The Pointe! 

Trial Classes & Referral Program

Did you know that we offer free trial classes for new-to-The-Pointe families - and we have a fun bonus for you if you refer a friend to our program? Families can schedule a trial class easily - just have them send us an email and we'll take care of it!

When a family you've referred signs up, please have them list your name in the "Where did you hear about us?" form in online registration. You both will receive a $20 gift card to our boutique!
